Installation
Notes: |

1. If you haven't downloaded
the Administrator Module yet, click on this link:

, then click open. You should see setup.exe in the zip
folder. Double-click on it. |

2. At the Welcome screen Click Next.
At the Setup Installation Folder screen, Click Next.
At the Confirm Installation screen Click Next.
Follow these
instructions if you're using our MvTv Repeater Server for the
demonstration (skip to 2A if you're going to install the MvTv
Repeater Server on your own PC) :
On the MvTv Admin
Config Editor screen:
Click On Generate Configuration File, then Click on OK
Click on Close Editor
In the Installation Complete screen, click on Close.

If the MvTv Repeater Server is not on the same PC as the Administrator, then
change the Server URL to the name or IP Address of the Server, after the
prefix http://
If the
MvTv Repeater Server is on the same PC as the Administrator,
then do not change the Server URL, but leave it as:
http://localhost .
Change the MvTv Server Port number to the port number that the MvTv Repeater Server is
set on.
Once you've set the Port number, select Generate Config File, then close the
editor. |

3. If you need to change the configuration, the default location for the Admin Config Editor (MvTvAdminConfigEditor.exe) is located in C:\Program
Files\MicroVideo Learning Systems Inc\MvTv Repeater Admin. |

4.
You’ll have an MvTv
Repeater Admin Module icon on your desktop now. To Login to it,
double-click on the icon. email
support@microvideo.com
for the Username and Password.
(You can change these settings in the MvTv Repeater Server database (MvTv.mdb),
in the UserList table... see the Server FAQ).
NOTE: The MvTv is a
remoting program that communicates with the IP protocol utilizing
ports. If you can't login to the Admin, check to make sure your
firewall isn't blocking all ports. Either turn your firewall off
(just for testing) or add the required port number as an exception
(preferred method). |

Video
Clip Management:
|
| |
1. To add or delete videos to
the Repeater Server (if you have a video clip, browse to it
using the Find Source button and add it).
2. Type the description...
give your clip a Name.
3. Add a time to your video clip. (This isn't necessary for
WMV's and most AVI's as the time is added automatically.
4. Click on Add New Video button once you've finished with
items 1 and 2. (Be patient while your clip is copied to the
Server's Library). Copying files larger than 2 GB is not
allowed unless the Client and Server reside on the same PC
and share the same Library folder.
5. If you need to update a clip name, add a time or delete
the clip, select the check box beside the clip name before
selecting the next action. |

TV Network
Management: |

Use this section to create different networks or
groups of Clients. Note that all TV Channels in a Network play the same
playlist.
If you have more than 1 TV Channel, and you want them to play different content,
then you must create more than 1 TV Network, and place the TV Channels into the
proper Networks.
To add a Network:
1. Enter the TV Network Name in the "Enter TV Network Name" text box
2. Add a scrolling text caption if you wish. A "Caption" is scrolling text that
appears below playing videos. Add a "space" you don't want a caption. If you
leave the Caption field blank, "Please change or delete this Caption" becomes
the Caption by default.
3. Click on Add New Tv Network button.
To change the name of a TV Network:
1. Select the check box beside the TV Network you wish to change, then change
the TV Network Name caption in the "Enter TV Network Name" text box,
then select Update Checked TV Network.
If you wish to delete a TV Network:
1. Select the TV Network's check box, then select "Delete Checked TV Network",
and select Yes when prompted.
If you have more than one TV Channel and TV Network, you can move Channels to
other TV Network by selecting the TV Network, then choosing available
Channels in the "Channels Available" box, then clicking on the right arrow
button to move that client. |

Channel Management: |

Channels are the devices that play the scheduled playlist content. They
need to be members of TV Networks.
Even though different Channels may be located in different locations, all
Channels that belong to the same TV Network play the same content. If
Channels are to play
different content, then they should be created in different TV Networks, which can be
created in the TV Network Management section.
To create a new
Channel, add the new
Channel's name to the "Channel
Name" field.
Select which
TV Network
you want your new
Channel
to be in, then click on the "Add New
Channel"
button.
You can delete a
Channel by selecting its' check box, then selecting "Delete Checked
Channels.

Playlist
Management: |
| |
Channels are the devices that play the scheduled
playlist content. They need to be members of TV Networks. Even though different
Channels may be located in different physical locations, all Channels that
belong to the same TV Network play the same content. If Channels are required to
play different content, then they must be located in different TV Networks,
which can be managed in the TV Network section.
To create a new Channel:
1. Add the new Channel's name to the "Enter New or Updated Channel Name" field.
Select which TV Network you want your new Channel to be in, then click on the
"Add New Channel" button.
To change a Channel's description:
1. Click on the check box beside thew Channel's name that you wish to modify,
then enter the new name in the "Enter New or Updated Channel Name" field. Then
select the "Update Name of Checked Channel" button.
You can delete a Channel by:
1. Selecting its' check box, then selecting "Delete Checked Channels. |

Schedule
Playlists: |

|
The default 1st Playlist is scheduled by
default when you install the MvTv Scheduling System. You can schedule
when you want playlists for different Networks to change. If you don't
schedule a playlist in a time slot, then the previously programmed
playlist will be repeated. You can schedule time slots as far in the
future as you wish.
To schedule a playlist:
1. Select the Start Date from the drop down box, then select the Network
that the playlist should apply to from the TV Networrk drop down list.
2. Click in the time slot that the playlist should start playing from,
then select the appropriate playlist from the drop down list by clicking
on the down arrow and selecting the required playlist. (If a playlist is
missing, the program may need to be refreshed. Just close the Admin
program and reopen it). Playlists will play for each Network until a new
playlist is scheduled.
You can Copy a Playlists from one day to another by:
1. Selecting the "Copy Playlists from 1 day to other Days" button
2. Select the required TV Network by selecting it from the drop down
list
3. Select the source date from the "Select Source Date" drop down list
4. Select the destination date from the "Select Destination Date" drop
down list
5. Select Paste
You can Copy a Playlists from week to another by:
1. Selecting the "Copy Playlists from 1 Week to other Weeks" button
2. Select the required TV Network by selecting it from the drop down
list
3. Select the source date from the "Select Source Week" drop down list
4. Select the destination year from the drop down list
5. Select the destination week from the drop down list
5. Select Paste Week(s) |

Monitoring: |

Is only available if you've
purchased this option. It allows you to see a history of
what’s played on the Channels. Every time a Channel plays a
clip, it sends that information to the server. You can see
how many times clips have played during a time period on a
Channel by selecting the report start (From Date), the end
(To Date) and then selecting the video from the drop down
list, then selecting "Generate Impressions Report". |
